A handful of moves, not a straight line.
Mappex Consultants Ltd. Inc. started with one gap to close: mining and machinery operators in Peru needed parts their own suppliers had stopped carrying, and someone had to build the network back in Canada to find them.
Mappex was recognized for its supply work on the Tintaya copper project, one of southern Peru's largest mining developments of the era.
A Lima office opens to import and export parts directly, serving mining clients across the region. Relationships from this era, with Cerro Verde, Minero Perú, and Minera Especial Tintaya S.A., are still active today.
A second office opens in Florida to lead sourcing and consulting. Lima shifts to handling receiving and logistics for active orders — no stock sits on either shelf waiting for a buyer.
